What is niacinamide and what does it do?

One of the most-Googled skincare components, niacinamide has an impressive list of skin benefits. Niacinamide, also known as nicotinamide, is a form of Vitamin B3.

The benefits of this powerhouse product are vast, but we’ve summarised some of the key ones for you:

  • Strengthens the skin’s barrier function, making it especially beneficial for skin prone to dehydration.
  • Minimises fine lines by increasing the production of the coenzyme your skin needs for skin cell repair and renewal.
  • Boost collagen, making your skin appear more plump.
  • Protects your skin against damage from the sun’s UV rays through antioxidants.
  • Reduces pigmentation through reducing the production of melanin (the cause of dark spots) and helps to brighten the skin.
  • Anti-inflammatory properties to improve skin texture, moisture and functionality.

Our PROTECTOR Hybrid Lotion contains niacinamide and shea butter in the one tube.

What are the benefits of vitamin c to my skin? How and When to use it?

We’ve all been told since a young age to take our daily vitamins, so of course the same should be expected for our skin too. But if you’re a bit unsure of the exact benefits of adding vitamin c to your skincare, we’ve broken it down for you.

Vitamin C has been proven to protect, brighten, and firm the skin - and it even helps with the ageing process by preventing skin damage caused by UV rays, sugar, stress and smoking.

And if you weren’t impressed enough already, it's the gold-standard antioxidant that fades dark spots and brightens your skin.

So, how do you use it?

Vitamin C is gentle enough to be used on our skin daily and is most commonly used in your morning skincare routine. The ingredient comes in different strengths across cleansers, lotions and serums.

Our BOOSTER Hybrid Lotion has been formulated with Vitamin C and Coconut Oil for extra hydration, and to brighten your skin.

What is hyaluronic acid and what does it do?

I think we can all agree that hyaluronic acid has been the most powerful skincare ingredients for a while now, and for good reason.  It is one of the most powerful hydrating ingredients used in skincare by pulling water from its environment to the upper layers of the skin, just like a sponge.

Hyaluronic acid molecules can attract up to 1,000 times their own weight in water, which is why it's so impactful hydrating the skin and keeping it dewy and hydrated throughout the day - not just when you apply it. This also means that it can plump the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles too.

Leave-on products that contain hyaluronic acid (ie moisturising lotions) will give you the best hydrating results. If you have dry skin, opt for an oil-based product with hyaluronic acid for dry skin. Our HYDRATOR Hybrid Lotion has been paired with almond oil (inner tube) with hyaluronic acid (inner tube) for maximum hydration.
